About

Sally Selman is a Middle Eastern visual artist based in the Netherlands. Born in Kuwait in 1989, she moved to the Netherlands with her family at the age of eight. She has been painting since childhood.

“Drawing was my world. If my parents couldn’t find me, I would be in my room with paper and colored pencils”

Her artistic style is a blend of surrealism and realism—a space she often finds herself drawn to. She specializes in portraiture and explores emotion, identity and inner worlds through her work.

Sally studied at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam and is currently completing her Master’s degree in Education in Arts. Alongside her practice, she exhibits her work regularly and gives workshops.
